Online application for a PAN card requires the following documents

To apply for PAN Card, Indian citizens must have three documents. These documents include an identity proof, a proof of age, and a proof that the applicant was born on or before April 1, 2001.

How do I apply for a PAN card?

It is easy to apply online for a PAN card. Follow the steps below to apply for a PAN card online. Fill in the required details and upload the documents via the official website at TIN-NSDL. Within 15 days, you will receive a physical copy of your PAN Card. This is the step-by-step procedure for obtaining a PAN Card online.

  • Step 1 : To apply online, go to the official website TIN-NSDL. Navigate to the PAN section of ‘Services’. You can also go to this link . Fill in details such as application type (Form 49A, Indian citizen), category (individual), title(Shri/Smt/Kumari), name, birth date, and contact details. Click on the “Submit” button to enter the CAPTCHA code. Take note of the generated token number and continue with PAN application.
  • Step 2 Now you’ll be redirected on a page that will give you three options to submit your documents for the PAN card application. You have three options: submit documents electronically using e-KYC or e-sign, send scanned images via e-sign, or forward the documents physically. After you have decided on the document submission process for your organization, fill out the details of the form and read the instructions carefully before clicking on the “Next” button.
  • Step 3 Next, you’ll need to enter details about your source of income, your address, and your contact information. Clicking on “Save Draft” will save the information.
  • Step 4 – To determine the tax jurisdiction that you are eligible for, you will need to enter your AO details. This information will be on the same page. Once you have completed the information, click on “Next”.
  • Step 5 Enter information about any documents that you have submitted to prove your identity, address and date of birth. Your signature and photograph will be required. Click on the “Submit” button.

After you submit the application and make payment, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number that is linked to your Aadhaar. After submitting the application, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. This receipt should be signed and sent to the NSDL office by courier or postal mail within 15 days of the date of the application. Send the envelope marked “APPLICATION FOR PAN-N- (15-digit acknowledgement number)” to the NSDL office.

How to apply online for a reprint or Correction of PAN Details

Reprints of your PAN cards can be requested on the website. You can request for correction of PAN details in two situations:

  • A PAN Number is already in your possession, but your PAN Card has been damaged.
  • Your PAN card has been lost.
  • You would like to make some corrections or modifications to your PAN Card.

Step 2 Select the appropriate option when requesting a PAN change.

Step 3 Fill in the details.

Step 4 – Pay the required amount.

Step 5 Print the acknowledgment and mail it to the NSDL by post. You should also send the necessary documents (identity proof and address proof as well as proof of date of birth) by mail.

Step 6 You may be asked to show proof of an existing PAN card.

Notice: It is illegal for anyone to have more than one PAN number. If you are applying to a PAN card the first time, fill out and submit form 49A.
